Deryck Hodge is a web developer and writer based in Atlanta, GA. That’s the tagline at least, the simple version of the story, if you will, but there’s more. So let’s unpack it.
Professionally, I’m a software developer and engineering leader focused on building web, mobile, and cloud developer platforms. I’m currently a senior engineering manager at GEICO, with previous stops at Apple, Disney, AWS, Canonical, and more.
As a writer, I focus on creative writing for the web. I’ve written short stories and a middle grade novel, all hosted online, and I’m currently working on a comic that I prototyped with generative AI tools.
This Fall '24, I will be going to grad school at SCAD to pursue an M.F.A. in Writing.
Outside all that, I love playing games, especially hanging with friends in MMOs, and I’m a big fan of great stories, film and TV, college football, MLS, and traveling with my family.
